Hritika’s story – Light School Fosters Dreams of Becoming a Nurse

We would like to share the profile of one of our students and thank you for the impact you are making to change precious lives. Hritika Modok, born on April 3, 2017, lives with her father, who works as a ward boy in a hospital. Her father’s monthly income is very little, making it difficult to support their family. Her mother left them after a difficult and distressing situation, causing Hritika significant emotional trauma.

Despite these challenges, Hritika has found a safe haven at Bangla Help Light School in Keranigonj, where she has been studying in Kindergarten since 2023. The school provides free education and food, ensuring she can focus on her studies and stay healthy. Initially shy and introverted, Hritika has blossomed into an enthusiastic student who mingles well with her peers. She loves studying Bangla, playing Ludu, and enjoys eating meat and fruits. Hritika dreams of becoming a nurse in the future.

We, the teachers of Banglahelp Light School, are proud of her progress and wish her a bright and successful future. Thank you for your continued support in making a difference in the lives of children like Hritika.
