Ritu Leaves Brothel Life Behind – Thankful for Sewing Training
My name is Ritu, I am now living outside the brothel community and am very happy to have left that life behind. Although I had a sewing machine for a long time, I wasn’t skilled in stitching and cutting clothes. However, after receiving sewing machine training through the Banglahelp-RCOP Project, I can now do everything. I have started working and am receiving orders from other women, as I specialize in stitching women’s and baby clothes. Currently, I earn 300 to 400 taka daily, which I hope will increase to 9000 to 12000 taka monthly. I believe I can earn even more in the future through this occupation.
With my new income, my family now values and listens to me. I hope to rent a shop soon to further increase my income. I am very grateful to Banglahelp for the sewing machine training, which has brought joy and peace back into my life.
